Art theft in Web3 is a problem. When DeviantArt Protect launched last year, it kicked off our serious commitment to combating art theft. Now we’re continuing that undertaking by tackling the root of the problem. Here’s what we’re doing next. A while back, we posted about the challenges of Web3 and how it’s not delivering on its promise. We asked for your feedback, and many artists agreed: art theft is a major problem. Your response underlined the importance of DeviantArt Protect, and we’ve been continuing to work on it to help safeguard our artists. We’re now scanning and indexing nine blockchains. We’ve scanned over 350 million NFTs and sent over 245,000 alerts informing artists that their content was stolen. Direct links are integrated so artists can quickly file a DMCA takedown. Dealing with theft is still a pain for artists Artists who are targeted and exploited are then given the burden of filling out countless DMCA forms. I never heard of Ninja until I saw the tweet Anita Sarkeesian posted last week. She tweeted this;
